Skin care is one of those things that people know they should be more diligent about, but with the stress of everyday life, it is usually is pushed further and further down on our to-do lists.
The first step in skin care is proper cleansing. You wouldn’t serve someone dinner on a plate that was only in the dishwasher for a few seconds, so you shouldn’t cheat your face washing process. It is a good idea to wash your face for at least one minute, and for two minutes if have on makeup. If you have acne prone skin, try a cleanser that contains 0.3% Triclosan. The anti bacterial qualities will help you to prevent future breakouts. A good moisturizer is a necessary step in every skin care regimen. If you have oily skin, you definitely want an oil free moisturizer.
Try to find something that is non-comedogenic, this simply means that it won’t clog your pores and cause breakouts. You don’t want to start using anti wrinkle creams too early because they can actually be too strong for your skin. Drinking lots of water is great for your skin because it helps to remove toxins from your body that can cause your skin to look bad. It also keeps your skin hydrated. Properly hydrated skin is essential in the battle against premature wrinkles. Don’t underestimate the power of wearing an SPF. SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, and it is a good idea to wear an SPF of at least 20. If you can, try to find a moisturizer with an SPF, and this will save you a step in your skin care routine. By taking care of your skin, you will feel better about yourself and you will actually look younger longer than you would if you didn’t properly care for your skin. Love your skin and it will love you back.
